NOGALES, AZ - On June 14, U.S. Border Patrol agents working out of the Tucson Sector, apprehended Faustino Guzman-Fabian, 37, after he crossed into this country illegally.
During processing, a records check revealed that the illegal alien is a registered sex offender for life in this country.
In a news release, U.S. Border Patrol, Tucson Sector stated:
Faustino Guzman-Fabian, a Mexican citizen, was convicted of taking indecent liberties with children in North Carolina.
On July 23, 2014, the illegal alien was convicted in Avery County District Court on two counts of indecent liberties with children, the victim was a 7-year-old girl. On March 20, 2016, after serving two years and one month is a North Carolina State Prison, Guzman-Fabian was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and was subsequently deported back to his native Mexico.
He is facing a charge of felony re-entry after deportation, and if convicted, could receive up to 20 years in federal prison.
