APEX, NC – Investigators with the Wake County Sheriff's Office have released the identity of the individual they believe to be responsible for shooting a 17-year-old girl to death in her own home, a little over a week ago.
On July 16, while her family slept, the victim was shot in her home in the 3800 block of Copperhead Road. The girl's father, awoken from the gun blasts, ran downstairs to check on her and found his daughter bleeding to death.
She was transported to WakeMed, where she was pronounced dead a few hours later.The sheriff's office has not released the victim's name.
The suspect, Alexander Gandarilla de Lossantos, 18, immediately fled the house, according to court documents.
Police K-9 teams searched the area for several hours, but did not find him.He will be charged with murder, according to investigators.
Alexander Gandarilla De Lossantos is still at-large at this time, and is considered armed and dangerous.
