Illegal Alien Wanted For Rape Taken Into Custody In Virginia

FALLS CHURCH, VA – The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) is thanking the public for their help which led to the apprehension of a rape suspect, who has now been charged with multiple sex crimes.


In a January 27th Facebook post, FCPD stated:


Thanks to your help, Joel Serrano-Chicas was taken into custody earlier today in the City of Falls Church. We received several tips in the last 24 hours which directly led to his arrest.

A few days ago, made a public appeal in an attempt to find Serrano-Chicas, after a second victim came forward, claiming that he had raped her. That assault reportedly took place on January 3.


In December, the first victim reported that she had been sexually assaulted by Serrano-Chicas.


Both attacks took place in the stairwell of an apartment building in the 6100 block of Leesburg Pike. The Salvadoran national lured both victims to the same location, after speaking through social media, according to court documents.


Joel Serrano-Chicas, 21, has been charged with rape and indecent liberties with a minor. He is currently being held at the Fairfax County Jail.


Detectives are urging any other victims of Serrano-Chicas to contact their Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, using option 3.
