SAN MIGUEL, AZ - On Wednesday, U.S. Border Patrol agents working out of the Three Points Station apprehended Jeronimo Cux-Santay, 25, after he crossed into this country illegally.
During processing, they discovered that in 2018, Cux Santay was convicted of sexually assaulting a minor in Marin County, California.
In a news release, U.S. Border Patrol, Tucson Sector stated:
In California, the previously removed Guatemalan citizen pleaded guilty to felony oral copulation with a person under 18.
His victim was unconscious at the time he assaulted her, according to court records.
Upon completion of his 16-month sentence, the illegal alien was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and deported.
Cux Santay is facing a charge of felony re-entry after deportation, and if convicted, could receive up to 20 years in federal prison.
