PANAMA CITY, FL - Last week, Bay County deputies arrested Luchen Jerome Daley, 32, who was holding more than a pound of Fentanyl.
In a news release, Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford made the following statement:
Daley was the subject of a narcotics investigation by the Special Investigations Division (SID) of the BCSO. On February 7, 2025, SID investigators, with the assistance of Criminal Investigations (CID) investigators, executed a search warrant at Daley’s residence. Daley had a criminal history in Bay County dating back to 2023.
When law enforcement arrived, Daley attempted to flee on foot but was swiftly apprehended by investigators. A subsequent search of the residence resulted in the discovery of approximately 566.2 grams (1 pound and 4 ounces) of Fentanyl in both pressed pill and powder form. Investigators also determined Daley, a Jamaican national, was in the country illegally, having overstayed his visa.
Daley was charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resisting an Officer Without Violence. He is currently being held at the Bay County Jail on an ICE detainer.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 50-100 times more potent than heroin, oxycodone and morphine. Just two to three milligrams of fentanyl can kill a person.
