BRUNSWICK, GA – On Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Lisa Godbey sentenced Alvaro Hernandez, 36, to six years and four months in federal prison, after he pleaded guilty to attempted coercion and enticement.
In March 2019, federal investigators, Camden County sheriff's deputies, along with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, targeted child predators operating in Southeastern Georgia.
In a press release, the U.S. Attorney's Office stated:
Hernandez, who responded to an internet message purporting to be from a 14-year-old offering sex for money, was arrested after he drove from his residence in Pierce County, Ga., and arrived at what he believed was the teen’s residence in St. Mary’s, Ga.
The Mexican national will be required to do the full sentence, as there is no parole in the federal justice system.
