ANTIOCH, CA – Two weeks ago, Amekka Emmanuel Akudinobi, 28, was arrested after his parole officer discovered he was using a device to access the internet, an activity from which he is forbidden, as a condition of his parole.
The parole officer arrived at Akudinobi’s residence, at which time, the parolee ran back into the house and attempted to hide a laptop. The officer discovered it and placed him under arrest, according to court documents.
A federal criminal complaint states that Akudinobi's laptop contained more than 400 child porn files.
The Mercury News reported:
Among the images and videos was an approximately five-minute video depicting a girl who authorities estimate was 10-12 years old. A task force officer with Homeland Security Investigations, a branch of ICE, noted in the complaint that “the URL of the website Akudinobi was visiting …appeared to be a Russian website.”
Akudinobi has been charged charged with receipt of child pornography. He is currently being detained without bond.
In 2017, the Nigerian immigrant was convicted on two felony counts of child pornography in Baltimore. After he was released on parole, he was ordered to register as a sex offender.
If convicted, Akudinobi could face up to 20 years in federal prison.
